Hair & Beauty Salon

Mersea Island

Friends Hair Design & Beauty Salon were looking to create an elegant treatment room, a relaxing waiting room for before or after treatments and a luxury cloakroom fit for a queen!

A popular hair and beauty salon in Mersea wanted rooms that gave the clients a feel of luxury whilst having treatments, Jacqualine wanted her clients to feel more special than they already are. Known for being a very friendly place they wanted to add a touch of class to the experience.

Having known Jacqualine for some time I knew a little of her tastes so started by showing her the Emma J Shipley Wilderie wallpapers. We selected the Lynx design for all the rooms. To help set this off I suggested to beadpanel the panels below and adding gold accents from gilding her current mirrors, handles sockets and even wash basins.

When it came to the treatment room we wanted them to tie together with the other room but needed to be a lighter colour pallet. We opted for Autentico Versante Matt Roman White that is soft and has a slight grey undertone, for the walls to work with the feature wall of Lynx paper. We upcycled some units in the same colour and added basin and taps in gold.

The waiting room needed to feel cosy and relaxing, so I suggested we used a graphite on the bead boards, doors and units to give that cosy feel, adding the lynx wallpaper above. To added a touch of warmth we opted for dusky pink velvet chairs and gold accents in the details. The cloakroom was made more elaborate with a large chandelier adding that wow factor. No detail was missed from accessories and even down to exposed pipes being gilded to finish the whole look.
